After a month of discovering my footprint on the environment as well as creating actions that would reduce it, I began to look at the progress that I have made. To provide a short recap of what I wanted to accomplish, I decided I would change 10 lightbulbs to renewable ones in my home, I would carpool less, and I would cut out meat three times a week. To be completely honest, the only area where I found to most challenging was cutting back meat. Now I am not a total meat lover, but to me a dinner is not complete without a source of meat - otherwise it seems as though it is missing something. I need to realize that I can find other substitutions for protein intake that does not necessarily need to be meet but it has been tough to let it go. On the other hand, I am happy to announce that I have changed 10 lightbulbs to a more renewable source as well have been carpooling to my volunteer/intern areas. I thought that these areas would be the most troublesome, but they were actually very easy to proceed with.

Since I feel comfortable with how my goals are going, I have decided to start a new goal to deal with my carbon footprint. Since I do mainly use my car and bus to get places I need to be, I thought it would be ideal to start walking to and from school three times a week. Especially since I only live about a mile away and the weather is beginning to be nicer, this goal does not seem to much of a stretch and easily accomplishable.
