After a quarter of referring back to my goals of eating less meat, carpooling more and changing my at home light fixtures to a more renewable energy source, I was able to reduce my number of earths to 1.5 compared to 2.1 I had in the beginning of the quarter. At first it was hard to switch to eating chicken to only three days, as I saw eating chicken as a meal for every night. But after referring to friends for recipes, I was able to cut back, and learned that other food rather than chicken is just as good. As for my carbon footprint, It was easy to reduce my use of transportation given the weather has been so nice, that walking home other than public transportation was a easy switch. As for carpooling, I made friends with some of the people I volunteered with and found out that they went to Western Washington University as well, so we created a system of carpooling which turned out very easy. Renewable sources in my household was I believe the easiest switch, because we see the same light, but an LED light bulb is just more efficient for the environment. Changing little routines in your daily life, is much easier to commit to and a lot simpler to make a difference with the environment. As for my other goal of walking home three times a week when weather permitted, I am happy to announce that this goal was achieved. I thought this goal would be harder to achieve than cutting out meat, but it was simple. Thanks to the sunny days that flooded Bellingham it was nice to be immersed in the sunshine, and I look forward to walking home more and more.

Ana! It is your ecological footprint NOT economic footprint!!! :) Great job reducing your EF - I hope you will try to continue your new "habits" PLUS encourage others to reduce their EF! 50/50 points
