San Francisco Bay area's first electric scooter company is expanding for the first time to Barcelona. Not only electric scooters, but e-bikes are being utilized. Why Barcelona? According to CEO and founder Michael Keating, "Barcelona is a natural market for the company because it's a "big scooter town". The dispersion of electric scooters and e-bikes is just one example that sheds light on just how popular new mobility services and sharing networks are becoming a more global market. One downside to e-scooters is that the City of San Francisco is banning all the sidewalk scooters unless the companies have permits. But the Scoot company creates larger electric mopeds used for the street to avoid the problem. Scoot is one company trying to tackle the on going congestion and climate impacts, and have been deemed as the 'good' guys.
