During hours of the day when the panels are producing more power than industries can use, the power is used to charge up the batteries. Later when the sun goes down, the power stored in the batteries are used to power the building which really cuts down the electricity bills. Last year, Target installed more than 43 megawatts of solar-panel installations in 425 locations and is striving to install 75 more to reach its goal of 500 in 2020. More and more companies are installing batteries and panels together. More than half of the commercial solar-panel and solar-plus-storage systems installed in 2017 were financed and owned by third parties, while the rest were owned by the property owners. The future for solar panels have gotten rough due to President Trumps tariffs that were imposed in January on imported solar panels and cells, the devices inside the panels that convert sunlight into electricity. Even with these tariffs, more than 130 companies pledged to go 100% renewable as part of their sustainability goals. Along with Target, Apple has installed 17 megawatts of solar panels of the roof, and has reached its 100% renewable energy goal of buying enough renewable energy

each year.
